Insulation is very effective at keeping heat in – which in turn cuts energy costs and energy consumption; but what types of insulation are available and which one will benefit you the most? As Green Deal Assessors we are able to identify which type of insulation would complement your property the best.

  • Roof & Loft Insulation

It’s common knowledge that heat rises, and if your loft/roof has not been insulated you could be losing up to a quarter of your heat through the roof. You can stop this from happening by insulating your roof which prevents the heat from escaping into the outside air. Loft insulation could save you, on average, around £175.00 a year.

  • Solid Wall & Cavity Wall Insulation

There are two types of wall insulation – that which is designed for a cavity wall and that which is designed for a solid wall; whichever you have, it’s vital that you get your wall insulated. Approximately a third of all heat if lost through the walls, which is why insulated walls can save up to £135.00 per year on heating bills.

  • Floor Insulation

That’s right – you can also insulate beneath your floor boards. Lots of draughts come up through the floor boards, and while floor insulation stops this in its tracks it can also save you on average £60.00 a year.

  • Draught-Proofing

Those little cold spots which you try and avoid during the winter months are letting valuable energy out of your home and cost you money. Draught-proofing does exactly what it suggests – it proofs your home against draughts and prevents any heat or energy from leaving your home. This has been proven to save approximately £55.00 a year.

  • Double Glazed Windows

Heat is typically lost through windows and doors and by investing in double glazed windows you’re actively preventing the loss of heat, trapping it in your home. Not only this, but it also insulates your home against outside noise; couple this with the fact that it can save homeowners on average £165.00 a year and you’ll quickly realise why they are a worthwhile investment.
